The Wide Leg Cargos- Youth pattern offers the perfect combination of style and comfort! With wide legs and a slimmer fit through the hip, these cargos feature a fitted elastic waistband that makes them easy to wear while still looking adorably trendy. This pattern works best with stable stretch knits like sweatshirt knit or french terry, but it can also be made with woven fabrics such as stretch twill, chambray, or linen blends. Stable the fabrics hold the shape of the wide legs and cargo pockets best. If you’re using non-stretch fabrics, sizing up will give you an even more oversized, on-trend baggy look. No matter what style you prefers, the Wide Leg Cargos are perfect for all ages—even those picky preteens! Customize the look with options like mid-rise or high-rise, short or pant lengths, and add waistband stitching and a drawstring for cute details.  They will adore all the different pockets for all their treasures with all the pocket options: front slat or patch pockets, and even 3D cargo pockets. The elastic waistband ensures comfort and ease, no matter what the day holds and provides a fit that will grow with them a little while.

The Wide Leg Cargos youth pattern is drafted for stable stretch knits with very little stretch.

Specific fabric suggestions: Sweatshirt, French terry, chambray, linen, linen blends, stretch twill… You can also use other stretch knits, but they will feel looser.
