P4P stylish, modern, wearable patterns

This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED GARMENT.
This beginner knit pattern is a simple dolman style top that can be a perfect staple top for anyone’s wardrobe. The tulip front and back options are so fun and on trend. The nursing under layer gives coverage for nursing parents while still looking stylish and feeling comfortable.
This top is a looser fitting tee, the tulip options will give more swing and feel looser than the plain option. I recommend using something with drape for the tulip options so the curves drape down to your body rather than tent outwards. Some of my favorites would be rayon/modal/bamboo spandex blends, triblends, ITY, sweater knits, and rayon blend french terry.
Options include plain front and back hemmed and banded, tulip front with plain back, and plain front with tulip back. You can style each of those with short sleeve, 3/4 or long sleeves to make this pattern work all year for you!
The top is a shirt length that hits towards the lower part of booty in the back and mid rise on front. You can pair this length with shorts or lengthen only about an inch to wear with leggings. The tulip curves hit right at waistband of a high rise bottom (jeans or leggings).
We also have a matching youth version- Tiny Tulip

Thank you very much for this very informative tutorial. I am just learning to sew with knits. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow. thank you for the tip of folding up the fabric when sewing the tube for the neckband and the instruction to serge the long edges of the tube together to prevent curling- what a time and frustration saver! Great tute; and thank you for the free pattern.

What a great video! Now that the snow has finally melted here in Maine, this is the perfect stuck-at-home project. Thanks so much!!

I am excited to sew this and I was especially excited about the layers option. However, after downloading the pattern, it appears that is no longer an option. If I am wrong can you tell me what to do differently?

Hi- You must use Adobe PDF reader to see the layers feature.

I LOVE this pattern! I’m new to sewing and this was my first P4P make. This was overall a pretty quick and simple make. I made a 3X with the plain front and tulip back with 3/4 sleeves and it is pretty flattering with that style for me and I plan to make more in the future! Love it.
