So Classic Sundress

This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED GARMENT.

The So Classic Sundress is a timeless silhouette with a flattering sweetheart neckline that never goes out of style.  You can sew it up in a vintage fabric for a retro feel or grab a modern print and have a trendy dress!  You can choose from empire or natural waist bodice lengths to suit your body shape best. Skirt lengths include a mini, knee and maxi length for every occasion. Straps can be traditional or halter style.  The princess seaming and elastic casing in the back bodice make the fitted woven bodice easier to perfect the fit to your shape.  The waistband gives great definition at the waist and of course we couldn’t leave off a pocket option! The bucket patch pockets are not only adorable but big enough to hold a larger cell phone, keys, whatever you need to grab and go. The center bodice piece includes options for plain center, center seam, and button placket options. The button placket can be made functional with button holes or snaps or faux for a quicker finish.

This pattern works great with a wide array of woven fabrics as long as it’s not too thick for the full gathering along the skirt.  Maxi is best with something lighter weight and drapey.
