So Classic Sundress- Youth

This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED GARMENT.

This oh so classic dress has a timeless sweetheart neckline, waistband, gathered skirt and optional bucket patch pockets.  The princess seams mimic the women’s version and give it a fun opportunity to mix fabrics.  Choose from empire or natural waist bodice lengths and above knee for a short vintage look, below knee, or maxi for a more elegant look.  Straps can be a traditional set or halter. The center bodice includes a plain option, center seam (great for stripes!), or a button placket.  The back is elastic casing, which gives the woven fabric a little more comfort and growing ease.

This pattern works great with a wide array of woven fabrics as long as it’s not too thick for the full gathering along the skirt.  Maxi is best with something lighter weight and drapey.
