P4P stylish, modern, wearable patterns
$10.00
This is a PDF sewing pattern and tutorial to teach you how to create these garments. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT.
This intermediate knit pattern is a traditional, tight fitting one piece swimsuit with tons of options! It is fully lined and comes with directions to add bust support (sew in swim cups, power mesh and under bust elastic). All seams are enclosed and edges finished with elastic for a secure, traditional swimsuit fit and feel.
This suit is the perfect suit to get you through years of summers! With all the options you can create sexy vacation wear as well as a comfortable and modest suit for the swim park with kiddos! The waistband hits at and slightly above the natural waistline so give a super slimming silhouette, while the gathered v at the shows off just enough to be flattering while feeling secure. The legs come up higher for a longer leaner look, but still keep cover enough to keep you from tugging away through swimming and offer full booty/cheek coverage. The retro vibe will be a classic for years to come and can be paired with so many different fabric pattern options for different looks!
Options include: halter strap, low back with cross straps, full back straps, regular bottoms, ruched bottoms, and skirted bottom (with peplum and skirt length).
Here is a round up of all shapes and sizes wearing this pattern! And an album in our FB group here!

I loved the look of this pattern in all the tester photos so decided to purchase it. It was a bit scary for me as I had only been sewing for three months and I had never sewn a swimsuit before. I had a few pauses in the process while I had to learn some new techniques or work out exactly what the instructions wanted me to do, but I managed to get there and absolutely love the result! They fit amazingly well and everything came together so beautifully in the end. I will definitely be using this pattern again! I love how there are so many options that I will never get bored! So, a little bit harder than I expected, instructions not always completely clear but well worth the purchase 🙂

This pattern is amazing. If I could only choose one pattern to use for the rest of my life it would be this one. I made this suit as a 2 piece and used the halter straps as cross back straps. I’m a 1X and I felt amazing wearing this. I wasn’t uncomfortable or pulling at it all day. It stayed in place through shoulder high waves, diving and running after a toddler. I am thoroughly impressed. I made 2 and have fabric for two more. I’m excited to try making a dress. I can’t say enough good things about this pattern. It’s amazing. Get it. Make it. Repeat.

Unimpressed. While the fit is good, the construction is abysmal. I couldn’t believe at some points what I was being instructed to do. There is no finesse to the finished garment on the inside. Raw edges, just folded over. The grafting of the halter strap onto the existing strap is lazy and looks terrible as a result. You’re just told to sew two basically finished straps together and fold down and zig-zag to cover the raw edge. It looks terrible! And if a halter strap piece had been provided instead there would be no need.
I won’t be sewing a P4P pattern again as I can’t believe how amateur the construction is.

I’ve never left a negative review for a pattern before, because I don’t want to be unkind and speak poorly of a person’s work. I do wish there had been more reviews on this pattern before I purchased it, so I hope this helps someone else out.
I feel that the instructions were not clear enough for me. I just made my daughter a swimsuit (different pattern company), so I’m not completely new to sewing swim. In one step you are told to baste the bodice pieces together but in the next picture they are not basted together. Was I suppose to follow the instructions or the picture? I also did not like the construction of the straps, so I tossed it and revised it for a 2nd bodice. You’re told to snip part of the strap which leaves raw edges possibly exposed. I fixed the problem with my revised bodice, but you’re then told to sew and fold over the connecting strap (like the previous review stated). It’s a mess and so sloppy.
I’ve never left a sewing project unfinished before, but I’ve had enough of this pattern. I just tossed it in a bag of swim fabric, and I will probably work on deconstructing it to make something for my daughter.

I love this pattern! I had never made a swimsuit before. It took some time to make, and sometimes I had to carefully reread the instructions. But I have made 3 plus a muslin and I love it so much! It fits great and everything stays in place, and I have run them through the washer after wearing in the ocean, and everything still looks great.
A couple of the reviews mentioned possible flaws in the strap constructions; however I looked at all of my ready to wear swimsuits, and they are all connected the same way. It is just the way that swimsuits are made and, in my opinion, not a flaw. Buy this pattern, have a little patience, grade and add/subtract length for your body type, and you should end up with a beautifully fitting suit.
