The Boundless-Youth knit dress has a ton of options to create year round dresses. It is a very classic silhouette that includes both empire and natural waist bodice lengths. The bodice is lined, which is great for beginners to be able to skip that neckband that can be a little tricky for new sewists to conquer perfectly. There are a few different length skirts to find the perfect preference for you and the season you’re sewing in.
Options include a tank bodice and sleeves (short, 3/4, and long). Included lengths are above knee, below knee and maxi. Bodice options include empire, which sits just below chest and natural waist which hits at natural waist above belly button. Also includes inseam pockets for an extra fun detail everyone loves!

I’ve made a couple of the Women’s Boundless Dresses for myself so when my 10-year-old girl told me she needed a new dress I immediately pulled out this pattern. I made the 3/4 sleeve, knee length version in a size larger to gave her extra wear and it turned out great. I made her dress in a double brushed poly and it drapes so well. I will be making her more dresses from this pattern soon.

I made this dress in crushed velvet for my daughter. Her measurements put her in the size 14 range, and I added length in both the bodice and the skirt to accommodate her height. I liked the no-trim pattern pieces a lot; instructions were clear, although I modified some finishing techniques to avoid topstitching on the velvet. I would have appreciated lengthen/shorten lines on the bodice and sleeve pattern pieces.
Worth noting: the finished size tracks perfectly with the size chart, so do take the time to get good measurements. For those sewing larger sizes or for girls who are developing curves, it’s good to know this is drafted for a cylindrical child’s frame. For that reason, I’ll switch to the adult Boundless pattern for my daughter’s dresses this spring and summer. This is a good, simple pattern that I enjoyed making.

Super easy pattern to follow! The instructions are clear- I appreciate the addition of videos. I haven’t made anything in a while and this was a great pattern to jump back into! I also appreciate that there is a wide range of sizes and options here that I can use for both of my girls.
